LinkedIn Live session; Product Momentum Podcast [How To Be A Good Product Manager]
LinkedIn Live: Customer Research in the COVID Era (August 26, 2020)
I’ve done a lot of different types of presentations, but this Wednesday, August 26 I’ll be participating in my first ever LinkedIn Live session. The event — Customer Research in the COVID Era — is at 12pm US Eastern time / 9am US Pacific and will feature a live video conversation where you can join in by posting questions and comments in real-time.
I’m excited to be co-hosting this session with my Forrester colleague Kelly Price, a senior analyst serving customer experience (CX) professionals. Part of Kelly’s research focuses on customer research practices, and she and I have had several great conversations about customer research and the role that CX professionals, user researchers, and product managers play. I’m looking forward to continuing that conversation live on video and taking your questions, particularly around how to continue to research customer needs in a socially distanced way.
The LinkedIn Live event is free and open to all — learn more and sign up here.
Product Momentum Podcast: Take An Objective Approach to Prioritization
I was honored to be a guest on Episode 32 of the Product Momentum podcast, where I spoke with hosts Sean Flaherty and Paul Gebel about a wide range of topics. While the main focus was on approaches to prioritization — and whether it’s possible for product manager to be truly objective when prioritizing enhancements or items on the roadmap — we also discussed how to find unspoken customer needs, the importance of vision and strategy, and why the role of product manager is so often misunderstood. You can listen online on the Product Momentum website or wherever you get your podcasts.

Customers are unlikely to remember exactly WHEN you launched a product, but they are very likely to remember IF you released a product that wasn’t ready to be launched.#prodmgmt #prodmktg
