Top Product Management Leadership Priorities For 2020

You may remember me posting last fall about some research we were working on at SiriusDecisions/Forrester to understand the biggest challenges and priorities of product management leaders. We had a great response — thanks to all who participated! — and the results are now available.

You can read a summary of the findings in this blog post — What Are The Top Product Management Leadership Priorities For 2020? — which was published on Forbes.com (pretty cool!). We’ve also summarized some of the key findings in the free e-book “Product Management Leadership Priorities for 2020.”

Your Input Needed: What Product Management Loves (and Hates!) About Marketing and Sales Leaders Sales

Think of the best/worst marketing and sales leaders you ever worked with. What was so great/bad about them?

I’m working on some research at Forrester/SiriusDecisions that focuses on what product/marketing/sales leaders do to hinder each other and how they can help each other be more effective.

I’d love to hear your stories about great or horrible sales/marketing leaders (no need to share the names of the people/companies!) you’ve worked with and why you loved or hated them.

You can share your stories by commenting on these LinkedIn posts where I put out the call for stories about sales leaders and stories about marketing leaders and stories about marketing leaders. If you don’t want to comment publicly, you can also contact me directly. I greatly appreciate anything you’re willing to share!

Upcoming Product Management Events this Spring

My schedule is filling up with some good events this spring. Some more things are in the works, but here’s definitely where you’ll be able to see and hear me in person:

  • ProductCamp St. Louis (Saturday, March 7, 2020): We’re on track for record-breaking registration (250+ participants already!) for this 9th annual event which I help organize.
  • SiriusDecisions Summit (May 3-6, 2020): Our big annual event will be back in Austin, TX for the second year. It’s the must-attend event for 3500+ b-to-b product, marketing and sales leaders in the most well-respected, high-performing companies in the world today. The full agenda is now available; I’m helping to coordinate the Product Management track, and I’ll be presenting a number of sessions, including one on the new ecosystem of product management and what a modern product management organization looks like.
