Hacking The Hiring Process – Alex Yang & Max Bevan on The Product Experience [Mind the Product]

Maximilian Bevan

If you’ve ever had to fill a role in your team, then you already know how broken most hiring processes are.  It’s even harder if you’re competing for top talent but are only able to pay at NGO/charity scales.  That’s the situation that Simprints found itself in when they decided to treat their hiring process as a product and start iterating.  What they came up with is a dramatic improvement that has changed the experience for hiring managers, teams and candidates – and they have the metrics to show for it. Maximillian Bevan (Director of Product) and Alex Yang (VP of Engineering) joined us to talk about how and why they’ve made these changes.

Quote of the Episode

Any change… to the hiring process should being doing one or more of three things: …making the process more effective, in terms of the quality of the candidates they get out of it; improving the candidate experience and making them more engaged throughout. Or it should be reducing the hiring burden on your team.
